Manta Dircks
Attorney
Manta was born and raised in Kohala, Hawaii and is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools Hawaii. He attended Willamette University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2014. He spent one year working at Scott Hookland, LLP in Portland, Oregon before attending Roger Williams University School of Law in Bristol, Rhode Island. While at Roger Williams University, he competed on the Moot Court Team, served as the Student Bar Association’s Secretary, and graduated with the Dean’s Scholar distinction.
After graduating law school, Manta returned to Hawaii to serve as a law clerk to the Honorable Jeffrey P. Crabtree (Ret.) on the Civil and Environmental Court calendars, Circuit Court of the First Circuit, State of Hawaii. Prior to joining Alapa & Otake, Manta was a Deputy Public Defender working in the Honolulu and Hilo offices. In his five years of being a public defender, Manta practiced at the district court, circuit court, and appellate levels.
In his free time, Manta enjoys diving and spending time with his wife, daughter, and two dogs.
